Who we are

What data we collect
- Account data: Your email address and full name when you create an account.
- CV content: The text extracted from CVs you upload (PDF or DOCX format). We store this to power AI features.
- Job applications: Job descriptions, cover letters, interview notes, and application status you create within the app.
- LinkedIn content: Text you paste from your LinkedIn profile for analysis. We do not connect to LinkedIn directly.
- Gmail credentials: OAuth tokens that allow the app to send emails on your behalf. We store these tokens securely and only use them to send application emails you explicitly trigger.
- Usage data: Basic logs of AI feature usage for rate limiting purposes.
How we use your data
We use your data solely to provide the JobHunt service:
- AI features (CV tailoring, cover letter generation, interview prep, match scoring) send relevant portions of your CV and job descriptions to Google Gemini AI for processing.
- Gmail OAuth tokens are used only to send emails you initiate from within the app.
- We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose other than operating JobHunt.
Third-party services
- Supabase: Database and authentication. Your data is stored in Supabase-managed PostgreSQL. supabase.com/privacy
- Google Gemini AI: Powers all AI features. Prompts include your CV text and job descriptions. ai.google.dev/terms
- Google OAuth: For Gmail integration. We request only the minimum scope needed to send emails on your behalf. myaccount.google.com/permissions
- Vercel: Application hosting. vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data (applications, CVs, cover letters, interview notes, and Gmail credentials) is permanently deleted within 24 hours.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Rectification: correct inaccurate data
- Deletion: delete your account and all associated data from your Settings page
- Portability: export your application data via the CSV export in the Applications page
- Withdraw consent: disconnect Gmail at any time from Settings
Cookies
We use session cookies only for authentication. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
